Got a question for all you gardeners out there.
My holly hocks don't seem to want to do anything this year except make big leaves. Haven't seen one stem yet. Maybe it's too early. I don't know. Got any ideas.
Haven't been posting much but I have been enjoying reading others blogs. Great stuff.
Enjoy the day
Susan
Hi Susan I do not know too much about hollyhocks and I love them-have not had luck growing them from seed here at all I do know it takes a couple years for them to make flowers-Deb might know
ReplyDeleteIt may be a little early yet. Hollyhocks are one of those strange and temperamental biannual plants that always confuse me. One year they will grow for me and others not so much.
ReplyDeleteSorry mate no idea.
ReplyDeleteI've not really grown hollyhocks but came across someone else with the same issue, maybe some of these answers will help.

they are odd ducks. sometimes the healthy foliage and no blossoms can be a sign of too much nitrogen in the soil. just thought i would mention it. but like your friend Carol has mentioned, it is a bit early yet for blossoms. my one and only hollyhock has beautiful foliage now, but no blossoms, either.
