Spring in the Yard

I don't really have a garden. Too many dogs running around digging things up. Same with the cats. What I do get are Arizona wild flowers growing in the yard and some bits and pieces of flowers that I have planted in the ground and in pots around my back yard. Oh and some cactus that blooms around April.
Here are some crocus and daffodils that I planted many years ago from potted plants I got for spring. Some time they bloom and sometime not but they always get at least this far. I sure hope they bloom this year.
Below is a mallow coming up. They are a wild flower here in Az of the poppy family. They are a beautiful orange and grow every where. They don't always come up. I haven't been able to sort out why. It does have to do with how much rain we have gotten in the winter but I don't know how much. Hope this is one of the years.
I will be posting them when they bloom. Keep your fingers crossed.

Does any one know anything about russian sage? Mine isn't even coming up green yet and I am afraid it got killed during the snow we had this year. Usually it has started growing green up from the ground by now but nothing. I sure hope it hasn't died. Do they freeze? Any answers.

Still no news about Sadie yet. Biopsy not back. Will let you all know as soon as I hear any thing. I hate this waiting.

Have a great day every one
Susan

  5. I had signs of Spring last week... now they are covered in snow and it's frigid outside :( My Russian sage has survived some pretty deep freezes so maybe it's just being cautious about coming up :)

    1. Hi Bev, Nice to see you. It is really strange the way our weather seems to be the same no matter what time of year it is. Having a good week I hope

  8. you are making me feel very guilty for sitting her at the computer when I could be outside in the garden. I'm eager to get out and make a start, the snowdrops are up and spring is about to burst out of the garden. It looks quite sunny in your garden, and don't worry too much about the sage, it gets very very cold here but my sage seems to come up year after year and its always ok. :-)

    1. Well today it's raining here, very depressing so I am on the computer.
Thanks for the info on the sage, Kathy said about the same. there are some tiny little buds that you can barely see coming out, so here's hoping. This rain just might do the trick.
How is your computer by the way

  9. Just found those instructions you asked for

''go to your dashboard and click on desgn-then under that photo of your blog is a orange button that says customize click on that
then click on backgrounds, that opens up all those themes you can choose-in there perhaps on top (mine is already set to that) look for where it says your own image or something like that--I did have a hard time getting a photo to work so I went with my paper - so need something that can't be patched to make a decent background-
it does have choices too- a photo just on top of your blog or all over
and then to play around with fonts and colors etc on your page-click on customize and that opens lots of stuff you can do the biggest I issue I have with allot of blogs here-is you can't read them well- the print is super small on a background that does not show up the type
that should say you need a photo that can be patched in to look right

I've found the PM Kathy sent me on FB and I've just done a copy/ past here so hope it al makes sense. Once you find the right place its just a matter of trial and error till you get it right. One thing I would do though is to chose your photo before you start and have it ready, I think it may need to be resized because it wont work if the picture is really big. let me know how it goes, Good luck :-)

    2. tried to do the photo background business and your right can't quite get them to fit right. It does say on there somewhere that if you want it to fit the page you need a big photo.
who knows and you are so right it is far from user friendly.

  10. I find its best to bookmark the blog, the dashboard and the profile page seperatly because I've never found a way to navigate from one to the other. To do that just put blogger dashboard into the search engine and it will come up, then bookmark it so you don't lose it again. Blogger is good in what it can do but its far from user frienfly :-)
