Entry for October 04, 2007October Adopt a Dog Month and the 4th International Animal Day

I found out today the it was International Animal Day thanks to my friends Milli and Nicholas. You would think I would have known this being the animal lover that I am. But our brains must have been in the same place because I had planned on posting The October Adopt a Dog Month notice today. Give it a look, and since I hate to not practice what I preach please notice the very handsome Dalmatian in the picture, that is Charlie and he just came to live with us this past Saturday. He is now a member of our family. He was off to Dalmatian rescue if the family hadn't stepped in. Remember all the poor shelter doggies out there who could use to have their lives saved and find a furever home.

AdoptOctober is Adopt-A-Dog Month®

Right now there is a happy-go-lucky mutt (or purebred) patiently waiting for his forever home. Actually, there are thousands of them in shelters across the nation. For this reason, the American Humane Association created Adopt-A-Dog Month® to remind you that there is a need for these special animals to be adopted.

Celebrated every October, the tradition promotes dog adoptions from animal shelters and provides an opportunity to spread the word about responsible pet care. Improve your life with a dog’s companionship, and support these loving creatures by visiting your local shelter and adopting the happy-go-lucky dog of your dreams.
