Entry for November 04, 2007/ Art Sunday

Recently I heard on National Public Radio that there was a monumental Edward Hopper exibit at The Washington Nation Gallery. In conjuntion with this exibit an opera was being written that was taken from five of Hopper's paintings. In this post I will give you information regarding this opera ( or as it is jokingly known as an Hoppera) and the five paintings of his that were the inspiration for the opera. The opera is title "Later That Same Evening". The following was taken from the National Gallery Web Site Links.

Painter Edward Hopper's urban scenes are among the most enduring and popular images of the 20th century. Now a joint project of the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, the National Gallery of Art, and the UM School of Music will bring five of his paintings to life in a new production of the Maryland Opera Studio, November 15-18 at the Center, and again on December 2 at the National Gallery.
