Out Of Africa

This is a place down the road ten minutes from my house. As you can see it holds many animals. These animals were all rescued from some horrible fate. The white rhino no picture was rescued from a canned hunt. Where they chain the animal and someone just walks up and shots them. Nice huh? Any way, some rich guy who saw the rhino bought him from the canned hunt people and then asked Out of Africa if they would take care of him for life. So is the story of all the animals here.
Out of Africa was origionally located in Phoenix, but it was just too hot for the animals and the lease, and well you know all those storie. Thankfully they decided that this was the place to be. It really does look a lot like the Serangeti.
As soon as they relocated all the people in the towns around here adopted them, volunterred to help get the place up and running. It has just been great. I have been there 3 times. Everytime a new guest comes to their new home. This time it was the new baby Zebras, who where born there. I could go on but it is easier for me to give you the web site.
Enjoy

  1. It's hard to see but these are baby grizzly bears. I saw them first when they were real little, if that is possible. There home is just strewn with hugh baby grizzly bear toys, all torn up. they ahve a pool and an enclosure that looks like home. they were rescues also.

  5. WE HAVE AN OUT OF AFRICA HERE NEAR ME...IT MOVED A FEW YEARS BACK TO ANOTHER PART OF PHOENIX....ARE THEY NOW NEAR YOU? IS IT FAMILY OWNED? DO THEY HAVE THE TIGER SPLASH? IT WAS A REALLY NICE PLACE TO GO SEE ANIMALS WHEN I WAS HERE. THE PPL WHO WORK THERE GO IN THE CAGES WITH THE ANIMALS AND ALSO SWIM IN THE BIG POOL WITH THE TIGERS. I HAVE SEEN SOME SCARY THINGS HAPPEN BUT THEY GOT IT ALL UNDER CONTROL.

  6. Aww..canned hunts should be illegal.I donl tk,now how anyone can be so cruel to shoot a caged, chained or tame animal in the name of 'sport."

We have a similar place called "Noah's Lost Ark." They have mostly big cats, but they also have bears, wolves, coyotes,a zorse, some deer, two binturongs, monkeys,a camel, and many farm animals and sulcata tortoises. It's a really great place. They have the lion that was in the New York apartment - it either killed or seriuosly injured the owner - I don't remember, but the lion was not at fault as lions do not belong in apartments!
